Tesoros Ayacuchanos

Ayacucho es una ciudad ubicada en la Sierra Sur de Perú, que por muchos años sufrió de violencia terrorista.  A partir del año 1994, superado el problema del terrorismo, la ciudad renació como uno de los lugares más atractivos del país, no sólo por su riqueza histórica y arquitectónica, sino por la versatilidad de su arte. Hoy en día, Ayacucho es considerada "Capital del Arte Popular y de la Artesanía del Perú", destacando los tallados en piedra (alabastro), la alfarería, los retablos y el bordado.

Recientemente, muchos diseñadores peruanos como Meche Correa, Susan Wagner, Ulla de Romaña, y otros más, inspiran sus colecciones en el arte y color de diversos pueblos andinos como Ayacucho... Y sin más ni más, hace poco me llego una caja de tesoros con cinturones, sobres, monederos, cartucheras... todos de fibras naturales y bordados a mano por artesanos ayacuchanos. Ayacucho is a town located in the southern highlands of Peru, which -for many years- suffered of terrorist violence. From 1994 ahead, when the terrorism was overcome, the city reborn as one of the most attractive places in the country, not only for its historical and architectural richness, but for the versatility of its art. Today, Ayacucho is considered "Capital of Folk Art and Crafts of Peru", highlighting the carved stone (alabaster), pottery, retablos and embroidery.

Recently, many Peruvian designers such Meche Correa, Susan Wagner, Ulla de Romaña, among others, have inspired their collections in the art and colors of Andean towns like Ayacucho... And just like that, I recently received a treasury box straight from Ayacucho, containing belts, envelopes, wallets, holsters... all natural fibers and hand-embroidered by artisans from Andean towns.
